Assignment: Creation and supervision of the visual identity for the second season of the documentary series about Sergio Ramos.
The Legend of Sergio Ramos is a documentary series that follows the life of the Spanish football star, captain of Real Madrid, and the Spanish national team, exploring his history as a player through his life’s key moments.
More truth. Less reality
It was the starting point to differentiate this new path from the first season. More evocative, more immersive; a story forged on those concepts throughout the season’s episodes.
Superman vs Clark Kent. The two perspectives SR4, the hero’s point of view
SR4 is Sergio Ramos as the elite athlete, and in the series, he is presented as a modern-day superhero; epic, but also self-sacrificing and vulnerable. Through dense cinematography, immersive camerawork, original music, and a very present sound design, we go into his emotions as a football legend.
Sergio, a realistic view
On the other hand, there is Sergio, the person, whom we have visually portrayed as Clark Kent, showing his human and familiar face. To portray this aspect, we decided to use a more authentic style of filmmaking and photography. Close to the subject with no superfluous additions.
A single color, white, and two clean, modern typographies that emphasize the idea of the two faces of the hero. The first one, a font with a markedly sporty character that reminds you of the typographies of the T-shirts, is complemented by another one that softens its lines and angles but maintains the geometric and condensed style.
The visual language is also clean and simple, keeping the idea of the two sides of the hero in the labeling. A union between football graphic codes and the documentary genre.
