Years: 2017-18
Client: Movistar + / Zeppelin
Assignment: Creation and supervision of the visual identity of the original Movistar and Zeppelin format.

Synopsis

The Bridge is an adventure docu-reality in which 15 strangers must build a 300-meter bridge in 30 days in order to reach an island where a 100,000 euro treasure is located.

The first reality show with a fictional narrative.

This unique concept was the genesis of the original format’s visual identity. We included creative protocols and explored narratives not seen before in television entertainment; concepts that are more often seen in fiction.

Season 1. A Western.

One of the contributing factors was taking inspiration from a film genre to develop the look and feel. The fact that it was shot in Patagonia, but not mentioned in the show, was one of the narrative guidelines in The Bridge. The viewer traveled to a conceptual, non-geolocated place, which, through careful filmmaking, allowed the viewer to evade and be with the protagonists in an unknown location. The Western and folk genres were the inspiration for the visual imagery of the first season.

The Dharma Initiative, The Revenant, or Patagonia itself were our references when it came to creating the direction and cinematography, art direction, and costume design.

Season 2. Vietnam 1973

The second season takes place again in an abstract location. In this case, the Vietnam War, 70s rock, or Kong: Skull Island were the starting points.  The spectacular Ha-Long Bay, bamboo trees, and paradisiacal beaches are present this season.
